London law firm Hunters Law has hired Olivia Piercy as a partner in its family department.
Ms Piercy has joined Hunters from Bindmans, where she headed the latter’s family department. She has a diverse practice ranging from high net worth financial claims on divorce to surrogacy, and cross-border enforcement of financial orders to child abduction work.
Ms Piercy is also a domestic abuse specialist and advocate. She sits on Resolution’s Domestic Abuse Committee, and is a member of Mr Justice Cobb’s Private Law Working Group.
Henry Hood, senior partner and head of Hunters’ family department, commented: “I am thrilled to welcome Olivia Piercy to our team. Olivia brings a unique combination of legal talent and business dynamism, making her a fantastic addition to our team at a time of great change and opportunity in family law practice.”
Ms Piercy added “I have long admired Hunters’ family law practice and am excited to be joining the team. I am looking forward to working with colleagues across the firm in providing a top-level service for our clients.”
Ms Piercy’s appointment was brokered by Somaya Ouazzani, chief executive of Mimoza Fleur, who further commented: “This move is an excellent demonstration of what can be achieved by way of growth, profile raising, and progression for law firms and candidates if law firms are prepared to focus on more than just the short term, candidates are prepared to back themselves, get out of their comfort zones, and agents match make well and engender trust with their clients and candidates throughout the process.”
The move was reported by Will Sidery in eprivateclient on 6 September, and can be found here.
