Our client, a premier league football club, is looking to hire a commercial lawyer with a passion and interest in football and commercial law. The opportunity will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to work alongside the club’s General Counsel as their ‘second in command’.
The individual must have trained at a leading law firm and have excellent academic credentials with at least three years’ post qualification experience within a leading commercial team, ideally in London but candidates at well regarded regional firms will also be considered. Whilst exposure to sports related matters is not essential, any candidate whose commercial law experience has or has had a particular emphasis on sports, media and/or entermtainment related commercial matters will be of particular interest.
The successful candidate will be expected to undertake the following tasks:
- Draft and negotiate a broad range of Commercial Agreements (including Endorsement/Appearance agreements).
- Advise on internal and external litigious matters
- Advise on aspects of Employment law
- Advise on FA and FIFA Agent’s regulations
- Advise on IP rights
- Assist with debt recovery
- Coordinate and manage external legal advisers
