Our client is a leading, highly ranked, City firm with a leading and established private wealth group. We have been instructed to support their established team’s growth at Senior Associate level/Legal Director level.

Their Private Client Department helps High Net Worth/Ultra High Net Worth individuals, their families and advisers with their tax and estate planning. Clients include entrepreneurs, business owners, property investors, and sport professionals in the UK and overseas. The department benefits from the firm’s wider private wealth offering that includes family, immigration, reputation management, business crime, residential property and cultural property.

Our client is looking to recruit a talented Senior Associate/Legal Director to join their highly regarded Private Client Department. Their role will involve a mix of the following:-

  • providing UK tax and estate planning to individuals, trustees and owner managed companies;
  • succession planning for clients with personal and business assets all over the world;
  • providing advice on offshore trusts and asset structuring for high-net-worth individuals, including pre-arrival planning and generational planning;
  • providing all forms of inheritance tax and capital gains tax planning advice; and
  • providing advice on protection of family businesses and family governance.


Our client is looking to recruit a Senior Associate or Legal Director with:

  • A range of experience as outlined above;
  • The experience and confidence to supervise junior colleagues;
  • Strong intellectual and analytical abilities;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Experience of drafting and technical research;
  • Good commercial understanding and ability to apply legal principles to client circumstances in a commercially aware manner;
  • Effective management of client expectations and high levels of client service;
  • Good organisational skills, record keeping and file management;
  • Advanced IT skills with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook;
  • Willingness to get involved and act as a team player on client matters and provide general departmental support;
  • An organised and accurate approach to work; and
  • Strong motivation and ambition to succeed.

Early promotion and a clear and partner track is available within this well-resourced team but not Senior Associate or Legal Director heavy team. STEP members and/or those with CTA accreditation are preferred but it is not a pre-requisite for the role.
